我们以CIE A-level物理为例来说明：
AS物理学习的topics包括：

A-level物理除了深入学习以上AS topic，还会新增以下内容：

• Ideal gases
• Temperature
• Thermal properties of materials
• Oscillations
• Communication
• Capacitance
• Electronics
• Magnetic fields
• Electromagnetic induction
• Alternating currents
• Quantum physics
而且所有考生都必须学习 practical skills实践能力。
二、考试形式
AS学生需要在一个考试季中考出Paper 1、 2、3 (Advanced Practical Skills 1或2)。
已经获得AS成绩并且希望 carry forward成绩的同学，可以在相应考试季考Paper 4、5。
选择线型路径的学生，需要在一个考试季中考完5套卷子。
Paper 1选择题，时间1小时15分，占整个A-level成绩的15.5%;
Paper 2 AS结构题，时间1小时15分，占比23%;
Paper 3 实验题，时间2小时，占比11.5%;
Paper 4 A Level 结构题，时间2小时，占比38.5%;
Paper 5 规划、分析、评估题，时间1小时15分钟，占比11.5%。
